OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2012. A business-mission of Karelia to Finland starts working in Helsinki. Such a presentation of economic and investment potential to Finland is held for the first time in many years. The event is organized by Ministry of Economic Development of Karelia together with the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Finland.

The delegation of Karelia is led by Minister of Economic Development and Deputy Head of the republic Valentin Luntsevich. Among participants there are the management of The White Sea Port Joint-Stock Company, Kondopoga Inc., Nord Hydro Joint-Stock Company, Petrozavodsk Airport budgetary institution of the Republic of Karelia, Yagoda Karelii (Berry of Karelia) production company Ltd., NITRO SIBERIA Nord Group Joint-Stock Company, IT-park of Petrozavodsk State University, Mariprodukt Joint-Stock Company, etc. The total number of participating companies and organizations of Karelia makes about 30.

Finland will be presented by representatives of national Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Employment and the Economy, the Finnish Parliament. Among representatives of business circles there are heads of such companies working in energy, food, industrial, building, transport, timber industries as ABB, Fortum, Poyry, Valio, Vesirakentaja Ltd, YIT Construction ltd, St. Peter Line, etc. Altogether there will be 37 participants.

The business-mission's program includes work in breakup groups on the following subjetcs: Opportunities of Karelian Companies in International Cooperation, Cooperation in the Sphere of Innovations and Investments, as well as negotiations in the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Finland, exchange of business contacts, organization of visits to Finnish companies for interested representatives of business of Karelia.
