Following April 2012, Domodedovo airport is traditionally holding a leading position in the Moscow Aviation Hub in terms of passenger traffic - airport services were provided to 2,042,656 passengers, which is 7.6% more than in April 2011. The number of flights was 19,428 takeoff and landing operations.

The airport has handled 856,110 passengers on domestic flights, which is 6.4% more when compared with April 2011. Passenger traffic in international destinations of Domodedovo has risen by 8.5% compared with the previous year, and amounted to 1,186,546 people.

Thus, from January to April, domestic passenger traffic in Moscow Domodedovo Airport has grown by 15.4% compared with the same period last year, reaching 2,999,147 people. The highest growth was recorded in the following domestic destinations: New Urengoy, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Rostov-on-Don, and Tyumen. Passenger traffic in these areas amounted to 567,000 people, which is 31.6% more than in the same period last year.

International passenger traffic totaled 4,327,013 people (plus 14.9% by January-April 2011). The highest growth was recorded at the following international air routes: Kyiv, Minsk, Ho Chi Minh City, Geneva, and Bangkok. In January-April 2012, 425,000,000 people have been carried in these destinations, which is 55% more than for the same period last year.

The growth of quantitative indicators of Moscow Domodedovo Airport is a sign of trust of passengers and confirmation of the high quality level. This is supported by the results of the research by independent consulting company Skytrax (UK), conducted among the millions of passengers, according to which, in April 2012, the aviation hub has won the title of best airport in Eastern Europe for the third time.

The statistics do not include infants, transit passengers, and those, who refused to travel by air.
