OREANDA-NEWS. July 05, 2012. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) found that a complaint “NORILSK NICKEL” Mining and Smelting Company” OJSC against the Federal Agency on Mineral Resources (Rosnedra) – an organizer of tenders for the right to use subsurface sites of federal status - was ungrounded, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia. 

One subsurface site for geological studies of mineral resources, exploration and production of copper - nickel ore under a combined license includes a Western side of Oktyabrsky field in the Krasnoyarsk region. Another subsoil site for exploration and production of nickel, copper, cobalt and associated components comprises the southern part of Norilsk-1 field in the Krasnoyarsk region.

“FAS has considered the complaint of “NORILSK NICKEL” OJSC that Rosnedra violated tender procedures. The FAS Commission has not revealed any procedural violations specified in Article 18.1 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”. Evaluating other facts stated in complaint of “NORILSK NICKEL” OJSC is beyond the competence of FAS”, pointed out Stats-Secretary, Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Tsarikovsky.
