OREANDA-NEWS.  July 12, 2012. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, within the last 12 months, from June, 2011 till June, 2012, the Consumer Price Index increased 3.7%.

Inflation made up 0.1% in June, 2011, reaching 5% within the first four months of the year and 7.7% within June, 2010-June, 2011. – 7,7%. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in June, 2012 prices for foods went 0.7% down, prices for non-foods went 0.4% down; tariffs for services to population increased 0.4%. According to official statistics, in June, prices grew most of all for dietary eggs - by 23%, onions– by 16,4%, carrots – by7,4%, beets – by 3,7%, fresh fruit – by1,5% (including citruses by 5.7%), and poultry by 1.1%.

At the same time, in June, 2012 prices decreased 23% for potatoes, 3.1% for stone fruits, 2% for beef, 1.9% for dairy and milk, 0.7% for pork, 0.6% for cereals and 0.4% for fresh vegetables. In particular, they went down 34.5% for vegetable marrows, 9.1% for tomatoes, 6.9% for cucumbers, 4.7% for cabbages, 1.6% for garlic, 1.4% for mushrooms and 03% for sunflower oil. Among non-foods, in June, 2012 the greatest increase in prices was registered for auto spares and bicycles which went up 1.3%, refrigerators and freezers by 0.4%, garments for adults and children footwear by 0.2%.

Cigarettes went up 1.8%. Among services to population the greatest increase was registered for educational fees – by 0.7%, utility services by 0.6%. For example, power fees grew 1.9%. Foreign tourism services increased in prices by 6.4%, international railway transportation by 2.1%, and passenger air transportation by 1.8%. Earlier NBM kept its forecast of inflation for 2012 at 4.9%. Inflation made up 7.8% in 2011 in Moldova.
