OREANDA-NEWS. August 21, 2012. As the first business organization established by a Chinese bank in Northern Europe, Bank of China Stockholm Branch recently held its opening ceremony, reported the press-centre of Bank of China.

Lan Lijun, Chinese Ambassador to Sweden, stated at the opening ceremony that, with strengthened economic and trade cooperation as well as personnel and cultural exchanges between Sweden and China over the recent years, related needs for financial services have been ever increasing. The opening of Bank of China Stockholm Branch is a move that follows the rapid development of bilateral relations, and the branch will offer a variety of financial services for economic and trade exchanges, tourism, and overseas study between the two countries, and that the opening will definitely serve as a new milestone.

Yue Yi, vice president of Bank of China stated that the bank will seize the opportunity and provide customers with high quality financial services based on its advantages in diversification and integration of home and abroad operations, so as to contribute to economic and trade cooperation between Sweden and China.

Margereta Bueke, chairwoman of the Stockholm City Council, said the opening of the of Bank of China Stockholm Branch will definitely promote closer economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and also play an active role in helping Stockholm grow into one of the leading financial centers in Northern Europe.

As of now, Bank of China has established overseas branches in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and 35 countries.
