OREANDA-NEWS.  November 01, 2012. As of today, peasants have been paid about 200 millions UAH of state budget subsidies for the keeping and preservation of young cattle. So, due to this program in the country cattle herds is increasing and milk production is increasing. This was started by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

"We successfully started in June a program of financial support for the keeping of young cattle. Today we’ve paid about 200 millions UAH. So this year we have been able for the first time in twenty years to stabilize the livestock. Currently, there is an increasing of cattle numbers and volumes of milk production", said Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

He also added that a draft is being developed under which farmers will be leased hangars and pigs. This will allow owners to hold 150-200 pigs and get decent returns.

The Minister said that government support not only ensures the growth of livestock and increase milk and meat production in farms, but also provides a basis for the development of the form of management, as cooperatives.

"Today, a self-employed farmer produces its own products, but he has no mechanism for its delivery to the consumer. Just cooperatives enable him to simplify and shorten the chain and give a decent price for producers and consumers. I recall that the President has set clear task - the development of rural areas. We worked with research statutes and NGOs to develop a program of economic development in rural areas. As a result, we have proposed and implements initiative "native village", Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.

The Minister stressed that provided in the initiative "native village" reorientation of the state to support individual farmers, small and medium enterprises in the country has already given significant results.
