OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2012. Steel output of Zhlobin-based Belarusian Metallurgical Plant (BMZ) amounted to 2.04 million tonnes in January-September 2012, up 3.5% on the year, an official with the plant told.

Rolled stock output reduced 2% to 1.694 million tonnes, and pipe output rose 3.3% to 94,570 tonnes.

Metal cord output went down 3.7% to 69,835 tonnes. Bead wire output decreased 9.4% to 23,237 tonnes.

Bead wire output amounted to 192,113 tonnes, up 3.3% year-on-year.

Commodity output grew 1.7% on the year in January-September to Br11.929 trillion (USD 1.405 billion).

Sales proceeds grew 90% in Jan-Sep to Br11.766 trillion (USD 1.386 billion).

State company Belarusian Metallurgical Plant was launched in 1984. BMZ exports about 85% of its output. Non-CIS countries account for more than 70% of the BMZ’s exports.
