OREANDA-NEWS. December 28, 2012. The IEMS First Emerging Market Research Forum, which was organized by the SKOLKOVO business school – Ernst & Young Institute for Emerging Market Studies (IEMS), was staged at the SKOLKOVO business school.

More than 70 acknowledged businessmen, economists, financiers and scientists, IEMS analysts and Ernst & Young top managers visited the Forum. The guest list included Ruben Vardanian, Founding partner of the SKOLKOVO business school, Karl Johansson, CIS Sub-Area Managing Partner at Ernst & Young, Alexis Karklins-Marchay, Partner and Co-Leader at the Ernst & Young Emerging Markets Center, Nikolay Filinov, Dean at the Higher School of Economics, Ivan Tchakarov, Chief Economist at Renaissance Capital, Ole-Bjorn Sjulstad, CEO at Telenor Russia, Vladimir Preobrajensky, Director of Research at the SKOLKOVO business school, Stefan Wagstyl, Emerging Markets Editor at Financial Times.

The purpose of the Forum is to create a venue for sharing ideas amongst the leading thinkers on emerging markets, discuss the current state of knowledge and developments regarding these countries, and identify key issues and trends relevant for the Institute’s research over the coming year. The panel and open discussions on the following topics were organized during the event: “Trends and Issues in Emerging Markets”, “Ernst & Young Vision”, “The Future of Business Education in Emerging Markets”, “How to Conduct High Impact Research”. The participants also discussed new topics for researches and possible development directions of IEMS.
