OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2013. During the past year the State Inspection of Ukraine on Consumer Protection received 29 thousand official appeals. Approximately 70% of which was decided in favor of consumers - about UAH 6 million returned to citizens. This was started by the head of the State Inspection of Ukraine on Consumer Protection Serhiy Orekhov at a briefing at the Government House.

"Today, the most problematic are the following market segments: first of all this is the quality of delivery of services - 47%, including housing services - 13.5%, the quality of food - 9%, nonfood - 37%, trading at a distance (eg Internet) - 4%. Because these areas are under increasing attention and constant supervision of the State Inspection of Ukraine on Consumer Protection", said Sergih Orekhov. According to him, due to the work of the Inspection consumers were done recalculation for not given or substandard housing services in the amount of UAH 9 million.

Also the head State Inspection of Ukraine on Consumer Protection reported that during 2012 were tested goods worth more than UAH 270 million of which were rejected and removed from the sales - worth around 93 million or 34%. The main type of violations is the lack of information about the origin of its quality characteristics.

Sergih Orekhov also emphasized that since August last year launched a new direction in the inspection - state market surveillance. Thus, during August-December 2012 829 inspections of product characteristics were conducted. In the ІІІ-ІV quarters products for children, home appliances, detergents, petroleum products were tested. Violation of legal documents established in 600 cases (72% of all inspections).

"470 entities were penalized by the results of the inspections" - the head State Inspection of Ukraine on Consumer Protection said.
