OREANDA-NEWS. January 30, 2013. According to President of CCI of Moldova Gheorghe Cucu, who took floor at the final sitting of the Organizing Committee of Competition Trade Mark 2012, the competition was filed to 97 applications form 82 companies representing various branches of the national economy. The competition keeps gaining the popularity with companies as a number of trade marks in it keep growing.

The experts were working in three groups, appraising trade marks of companies producing foodstuffs and beverages, industrial goods and services. The trade marks were not accessed as graphic symbols; experts considered efficiency of marketing instruments selected and achievement of goals marketing campaigns set. Every file was considered separately and independently by each jury member. The official awarding ceremony, where winners will be presented the grand Prix – Gold Mercury, and gold, silver and bronze medals takes place on February, 1 in the framework of the Made in Moldova national show, hold at Moldexpo within January,30- February, 2.

The Trade Mark of the Year was founded at the initiative of CCI of Moldova in 2003 and is held every year in partnership with the Intellectual Property Protection Agency to promote best marking and branding practices, enhance competitiveness of nominees and raise professionalism of marketing teams.

The competition is aimed at promoting the corporate image of companies, supporting business with information about effective marketing technologies, consolidating efforts of national producers in creating favourable business environment and sound competition, which help to improve quality of goods and services and identify most successful projects for creation and promotion of trade marks to the domestic and foreign markets. Participation in the competition helps to promoted trade marks in business circles and among representatives of the target audience and grants an exclusive right of using symbols of the competition.

The Trade Mark of Year is the only legally operative award in Moldova, granting winners the right for using symbols of the competition for advertising and placing symbols of the awards on goods and packages. To date, it has been registered over 1 thousand international trade marks and close to 10 thousand of domestic ones in Moldova, AGEPI informs.
