OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus is supported to blow as much as Br134 trillion (USD 15.6 billion) in production upgrade and innovations, but is now short of Br60 trillion (USD 7 billion).

Prime-Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich made a statement to this effect at a conference with the government and President Lukashenko in attendance, where they analyzed the country’s economic performance in 2012 and set targets for 2013.

The premier voiced all major upgrade projects scheduled for 2013 and specified the funds earmarked for those projects.

In turn, President Lukashenko instructed the State Control Committee to analyze the total cost of innovation projects to make sure the overall costs are not overstated. Lukashenko challenged companies concerned to synchronize their upgrade projects with equipment supplies for fear of letting expensive imported equipment stay idle.

In conclusion, the president threatened to dismiss high-ranking state officials for poor coordination.
