OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2013. Qatar Petroleum is taking an important role in the 18th Middle East Oil & Gas Show and Conference (MEOS 2013), which opened at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Manama.

The event, which is held under the patronage of HRH Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, was inaugurated this morning by H.H. Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain. H.H. Shaikh Ali visited the QP stand, where he was received by H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Thamer Al Thani, Qatar’s Ambassador to Bahrain, as well as by the QP delegation, who presented him with a gift.

Organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and Arabian Exhibition Management, MEOS 2013 has attracted the participation of over 300 companies from 30 countries worldwide. The event covers a wide range of fields in the oil and gas sector, including reservoir management, drilling, measuring systems, geology, as well as health and safety. The conference theme this year is “Transforming the Energy Future,” and it has attracted the participation of over 2,000 delegates consisting of industry professionals from all over the world.

The QP stand in the exhibition has been visited by a large number of visitors and delegates, many of whom wanted to know more about QP, its current and future activities, operations and major projects.
