OREANDA-NEWS. JSC “E4 Group” was selected as an EPC-contractor in the result of the tender. The project management will be performed by LLC “INTER RAO Engineering” (100% subsidiary of JSC “INTER RAO UES”). Commissioning of the power unit is scheduled for December 2015.

E4 Group will carry out design and survey works, construction, design supervision, commissioning, personnel training and startup for operation of the equipment. The main equipment will be supplied by Siemens AG.

The fourth power unit of 800 MW will increase the installed capacity of the plant up to 3200 MW, thus enabling to cover the electric power deficit which the region currently suffers from. Owning to installation of modern equipment and application of new technologies, fuel flow rate consumed to generate power by the new plant will decrease by 15-25%.

“A large-scale expansion of Permskaya GRES not only satisfies one of the strategic development priorities of “INTER RAO UES” Group as regards to enhancement of the installed capacity in the domestic market, but also it is a vital project for development of regional and federal power systems. In the future, due to strengthening of the main grid infrastructure, Permskaya GRES will be capable to supply electric power to the central regions of Russia,” – said Boris Kovalchuk, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “INTER RAO UES”.

“At the moment, preparatory works are going on at site, and in the nearest future we will start an active construction phase. The project will be implemented in line with the highest quality standards, and a new power unit will be commissioned within the time agreed – in December, 2015,” – said Andrey Malyshev, President of JSC “E4 Group”,. A solemn ceremony for the construction commencement of a new power plant took place on March 5, 2013.
