OREANDA-NEWS. The Authorized Reseller and Service Provider statuses from the leading flash storage manufacturer enable CROC to sell and support Violin Memory solutions in Russia and CIS. The technology allows CROC to create efficient flash memory storage solutions with over ten times the performance of traditional solutions with SSD drives.

Violin Memory, a US company, was founded in 2005. Violin Memory’s all-flash Memory Arrays help improve IT system performance dramatically and at the same time save data centre operational expenses. Today CROC is the only company offering on-site proof of concept testing of Violin Memory Arrays in Russia. As part of the certification process, the company's engineers have received training and certifications at Violin Memory’s US laboratory. CROC has already started a project using two Violin Memory Arrays to enable virtualization of 10,000 desktops.

"Violin’s all flash memory arrays are ideal for large-scale desktop virtualization, high-load databases, complex analytical queries, and other high-performance tasks. In these cases, the system is more cost-effective than traditional storage. In addition, it can be used with existing disk arrays in order to dramatically improve overall IT infrastructure efficiency. Furthermore, Violin solutions save space: a drawer-sized system performs like several tall server racks. In order to clear any doubts, many companies assess Violin Arrays in their own facility. A number of organisations including banks and a large transportation company have lined up on-site proof of concept to review potential performance improvements," comments Andrey Tischenko, Deputy Director of Computer Systems Department, CROC.

"We decided to enter the Russian market at the end of 2012 and chose CROC as a partner with extensive experience in implementing major projects based on innovative solutions. Our systems feature unique architecture with response times under a millisecond across a range of workload. As a result, even sophisticated operations like extensive report generation are performed really fast," said Christian Putz, Regional Sales Director, Violin Memory.
