OREANDA-NEWS.  April 23, 2013. Export potential of agrarian branch is gradually improving in Ukraine. In 2012 export of agricultural production made up USD 18.2 bln, which is by 40% more than in 2011. On the results of the first quarter of the current year export of agriculture goods grew by 10.7%. This was informed by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhniuk during An Hour of Questions to the Government in the Verkhovna Rada.

“During recent years Ukraine has considerably improved its positions concerning export of agricultural production. We have proved our leadership in the world food market. So, in 2012 export of agricultural production amounted USD 18.2 billion. As compared to 2011 it grew by almost 40%. And foreign trade balance is positive and reached 10.4 billion dollars. This positive tendency is continuing this year,” the Minister stressed.

Mykola Prysyazhniuk informed that on the results of first quarter of 2013 foreign trade turnover increased by 14.8%, while export grew by 10.7%.

Moreover, geography of export was also enlarged, in particular, new markets of Japan, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates and Southern African Republic were open.
