OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2013. Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov has received U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert Blake.

The sides exchanged opinions on a wide array of topics concerning the development of bilateral relations, particularly in trade and economic and investment cooperation.

According to Akhmetov, since 1993 about 24 billion U.S. dollars of direct investment was attracted to Kazakhstan, more than 300 joint enterprises were founded. He said the countries had big potential for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.

“Kazakhstan and the United States have good opportunities for expanding and deepening various aspects of bilateral relations,” Robert Blake noted. He also stressed the importance of developing contacts in the field of scientific-technical, humanitarian partnership and technology transfer.
