OREANDA-NEWS. A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between TENEX and TVEL on 11 April 2013. The document, executed by Oleg Kozin, TENEX’s Deputy General Director, and Vasily Konstantinov, TVEL’s Senior Vice President, comes as part of a project to create a centre for comprehensive maintenance of foreign-produced protective shipping packages used for transport and storage of enriched and natural uranium hexafluoride.

When completed, this project will decrease TENEX’s expenses for maintenance of transport equipment and ensure that this exporter of Russian uranium products is independent from foreign maintenance companies offering these services. The centre for comprehensive maintenance of foreign-produced protective shipping packages will be located at the production site of JSC Urals Electrochemical Plant and put into operation by 2015.

This project was launched as part of a comprehensive programme aimed at developing the transport and logistics infrastructure and is carried out by TENEX with the goal of increasing the reliability of export shipments of Russian uranium products.
