OREANDA-NEWS. July 19, 2013. The State Duma adopted in the first reading a draft Federal Law “On Introducing Amendments to Article 19.8 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Violations”, devised by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia).

The draft law is prepared under No. 1-P Ruling of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation of 17th January 2013 to improve the procedures for holding legal entities administratively liable for failure for to submit information upon a request of the antimonopoly body.

For instance, the draft law proposes amendments to Part 5 Article 19.8 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Violations, designed to reduce the minimum administrative fine from 300,000 to 50,000 Rubles, which, in its turn will make administrative sanctions fit a committed administrative violation. Also, as pointed out the Head of FAS Department Sergey Puzurevsky adopting the draft law will also help more clearly account for the property status and financial situation of a legal entity held administratively liable.

Upon adopting the draft law, an administrative fine for failure to submit information upon a request of the antimonopoly authority can vary from 50,000 до 500,000 Rubles.
