OREANDA-NEWS. The SCM Group is pleased to announce its corporate social responsibility results for January-June 2013 consolidated in course of preparations of the Group's non-financial report.

Taxes and duties paid by the group companies to the national and local budgets (including the Pension Fund) made UAH 14.5bn.

The gross payroll made UAH 8.7bn, and average salary across the Group totalled UAH 5,300, which is 1.6 times more than an average salary of a Ukrainian employee and 1.4 times more than salary of an industrial worker (according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine).

Expenditures on social programmes made UAH 2.7bn, including UAH 2.39bn on environment protection, health and safety.

“SCM's sustainable development and cost effectiveness go hand in hand with working conditions at our businesses and living standards in the regions of our operations, which means with the Group's investments in the areas of importance for our employees and citizens of the regions where we are based. Through these investments we allocate the lion's share of the revenue to develop our businesses, regions and the whole country. Through these investments SCM contributes to the development of Ukraine's economic and social activity. SCM remained the biggest national tax payer and employer in H1 2013. Our team and all Ukrainian residents enjoy modern living and employment standards. We are going to continue investing in environmental protection, energy efficiency and dozens of social programmes in education, medicine and entrepreneurship,” commented SCM CEO Oleg Popov on the results of H1 2013.
