OREANDA-NEWS. On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, KfW has increased its “Round Table” consultancy programme for businesses damaged by the May/June 2013 flood. The special fund of the Ministry of Economics is endowed with EUR 1 million. Small and medium-sized businesses damaged by the flood can obtain a grant towards the cost of consultancy services on necessary measures so that the damage can be repaired as efficiently as possible. As was the case under the existing “Round Table” product, “Flood Round Table” funds can be obtained through the chambers of industry and commerce and the chambers of trade.

The “Flood Relief” special fund will provide grants for a maximum amount of EUR 1,600 of the cost of business consultancy and will run until the end of this year. Applications are now also accepted from companies that have already applied for Round Table support. Enterprises choose a consultant who has been accredited for the programme by the KfW Consultant Exchange. The analysis of weaknesses and the consultancy services will help companies get back on their feet. KfW has supported more than 45,000 companies under the “Round Table” programme since 1995.

KfW has provided loans in an overall volume of initially EUR 100 million at particularly favourable terms and conditions under the German federal government's ten-point programme to help private households, businesses and municipalities repair flood damage. KfW is also ready to fund the promotional institutions of affected federal states at favourable conditions where required.
