OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2013. In 2009-2012, implementing investment projects in Moldova was backed with grants and loans amounting to MDL 5.4 billion.

The top Moldova’s largest donors were the World Bank, which provided our country with MDL 2.17 billion for 4 years, or 40.15% of the total backing; the European Commission (MDL 909.3 million or 16.8%), the USA (MDL 612.09 million or 11.3%); the European Investment Bank (544.97 million or 10%) and the International Fund for Agriculture Development (MDL 271.74 million or 5%), independent analytic centre Expert Grup reports. In 2012, MDL 2.02 billion allotted to investment projects included MDL 1.3 billion provided as loans and MDL 708.44 million provided as grants.

To compare, in 2011, MDL 1.37 billion allotted to investment projects included MDL 756.05 million as loans and MDL 612.6 million as grants; in 2010, loans were MDL 572.22 million, grants amounted to MDL 666.52 million; in 2009, loans made up MDL 455.36 million, grants were MDL 333.28 million.
