OREANDA-NEWS. In the course of the International Aerospace Salon (MAKS-2013) and in the presence of Russian Prime Minster Dmitry Medvedev State Corporation 'Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)', the Moscow Region Government, OJSC Gazprom Space Systems and LLC Gazprom Investproject signed a quadripartite agreement of intent.

Under the agreement the parties intend to cooperate in implementing a project on building a production facility to assemble space vehicles for the Yamal communications system and the observation system SMOTR on the territory of the Moscow region in the city of Shchelkovo.

The new space production facility in the Moscow region is planned to produce about 4 advanced space vehicles per year with the use of advanced domestic and foreign technologies. New high-skilled jobs are also to be created in worker and project-design categories. The project's implementation would help to develop land infrastructure and telecommunications support systems in the Moscow region as well as increase tax base of the region.
