OREANDA-NEWS. October 11, 2013. This is stated in October’s update of IMF’s World Economic Outlook. However, the update has not taken into consideration results of the last IMF mission, which was working in our country on September, 18-October, 1, 2013.

Following completion of the IMF first post-program monitoring of the program implemented in our country through IMF Extended Credit Facility and Extended Fund Facility, experts of IMF upgraded Moldova's GDP projection from 4% to 5.5% in 2013. As Max Alier, IMF mission head in Moldova said, our economy shows signs of recovery following the severe drought of the past year. The slight 0.8% contraction in the national GDP recorded in 2012 will give place to its 5.5% growth in 2013, the experts of IMF project.

The growth will be bolstered by a better situation in the agricultural sector and related industries, and by a raise in exports and domestic consumption. Within the first 6 months of 2013 GDP of Moldova grew 4.9%.
