OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2013. The text of the Agreement on Common Aviation Area (CAA) with the states of European Union has been agreed. The procedures of preparation of the document to the signing are being continued, Vice Prime Minister Olexandr Vilkul said.

Ukraine expects significant changes in the aviation market, as the experience of European countries that had joined the process, suggests the possible reduction of tariffs and significant geographical expansion of flights.

"The Government is interested in creating the most comfortable and suitable conditions for citizens while using air transport. As air direction is used by one carrier, it is tempting to play on tariff raising, and when there is healthy competition in the market, the carrier will have to attract a passenger with low-cost ticket and quality services," Olexandr Vilkul said.

One of the main aspects of the Agreement on CAA is the removal of restrictions that still exist between Ukraine and European countries, said director of air transport department and airports of the State Aviation Service of Ukraine Serhiy Korshuk during the live broadcast on the radio "Voice of Capital."

"The signing of the document and the joining of Ukraine to the free air space will actually create additional opportunities to open flights on new destinations as for Ukrainian and foreign airlines, and give passengers the opportunity to make a choice," Vice Prime Minister said.
