OREANDA-NEWS.  The personnel of Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI), Indian metallurgical plant for special metals and alloys production successfully runs the hot-testing of the Uralmashplant supplied ring-rolling mill. According to the test schedule the mill rolls rings of different height and diameter and of different alloys, including super alloys. The test results satisfied both Indian and Uralmash parties. The contracting parties plan to commission the mill until the end of the year.

The new mill rolls the rings of Ш0.4 to Ш3.5 m. It is equipped with specially designed system for processing of blanks made of common steels and special steels as well as of one of the most difficult-to-form materials - titanium metal. The rolled rings are good for use in the electric-power, aviation, space and chemical industries of India.

Andrey Saltanov, the General Director of "Uralmashplant" JSC tells of state of the art equipment and design concepts used by Uralmashplant engineers to develop and manufacture this new, completely automated equipment.

The mill is equipped with the new main drive system, new systems of carriage and inner roll upper support motion, easier to operate and more reliable forming roll stand as well as with new roll change stands. The mill has completely automated control system - the equipment can be serviced by two personnel members only.
