OREANDA-NEWS.  Rostec, “Rosneft” and Pirelli signed a memorandum of understanding, involving the joint development of new materials that are necessary for the production of tires. Interests in materials developed by incorporation companies will belong to Rostec.

In accordance with the signed memorandum Rostec, “Rosneft” and Pirelli plan to cooperate on materials that will be used for the production of tires. In particular, what it involves are various kinds of synthetic rubber, hardeners, fillers (including carbon nanotubes) and reinforcing materials.

“Enterprises of Rostec State Corporation are deeply integrated into the global economy - said Sergey Chemezov. - The partnership with Pirelli and “Rosneft” in the sphere of development of new materials allows Rostec firmly establish itself in the global market section. Commercialization of results of research and development is one of the priorities of the corporation. Extension of cooperation in this sphere will give the opportunity to realize the potential of research institutions that are part of Rostec and to use the knowledge of Russian scientists”.

Interests in materials developed by Rostec and “Rosneft” will belong agreeably to incorporation and oil concern. Interests in production processes that allow using new materials in the manufacture will belong to Pirelli.

“Execution of this project will allow NK “Rosneft” and its potential industry partners with the support of Pirelli and Rostec incorporation organize an efficient production of new materials of the highest quality based on the most advanced technologies with improved environmental and economic characteristics relevant to the requirements of prospective consumers,” - said Igor Sechin, the president, Chairman of the Board of “Rosneft”.
