OREANDA-NEWS. Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, was honoured with the CII- ITC Sustainability Award 2013 for its commitment and exemplary work done in the area of sustainability. In recognition of this commitment, Tata Power received the commendation certification for significant achievement on the journey towards sustainable development in category A for the year 2012.

The award ceremony was graced by Hon'ble Minister for Corporate Affairs Sachin Pilot. DrYogendra Saxena, chief sustainability officer, Tata Power received the award on behalf of the organisation. The CII-ITC Sustainability Awards promotes role models in the Indian industry and recognises excellence achieved by business houses in streamlining sustainability with their business practices. Success stories of Tata Power, elaborating the company's journey towards sustainability is also featured in the winnersbooklet and shared with all stakeholders.

Instituted by the CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development in 2006, the Sustainability Awards identify and recognise exemplary performance in economic, social and environmental dimensions of Indian business. Tata Power also won the CII-ITC Sustainability Award in 2012 for its strong commitment to the environment.
