OREANDA-NEWS. Vale has been named as one of world's best for the first time for its knowledge management skills, in the rankings for the Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE) award. This international award - currently in its 11th edition - recognizes institutions for their above par performance in terms of innovation, operational effectiveness and for the excellence of their products and services.

Ours was the only Latin American company to rank among the 20 finalists from around the world, which included names such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Toyota and Samsung. The recognition was specifically for our Capital Projects knowledge management skills.

The award selects finalists based upon a study by The KNOW Network, an institution recognized throughout the world for the excellence of its information management. This study analyzes institutions throughout the world that have adopted models for sharing cases, projects, initiatives and experiences among their employees to become benchmarks in these areas.

According to the report published by the institution, Vale has been outstanding in its ability to accrue value based on the knowledge of its shareholders. “The award is confirmation that our efforts are totally in synch with the company's vision,” emphasized Capital Projects Management Director Kleger Duque.
