OREANDA-NEWS.   ZAO Foreign Trade Company KAMAZ organized a meeting in Moscow with the ambassadors of African countries to strengthen economic and political cooperation between Russia and the African continent.
The meeting was attended by the ambassadors of 16 African countries, including Angola, Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia, the Republic of South Africa, etc. Besides the experts of FTC KAMAZ, the event was attended by the representatives of State Corporation Rostec that includes KAMAZ, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, EXIAR, Eximbank of Russia and VTB Capital. The guests of the meeting were presented KAMAZ as a comprehensive product including motor vehicles, spare parts, maintenance, and were informed about solutions for deliveries financing through the Russian banks.

OJSC KAMAZ has been working in the countries of the African continent since the Soviet Union times. Soviet-style vehicles can still be seen on the roads of Africa. “We are especially proud of KAMAZ trucks operating for international organizations of the UN,” said Rafail Gafeev, Director General of Foreign Trade Company KAMAZ, at the meeting. “Lots of KAMAZ vehicles are used by transportation, construction and mining companies.” The company is currently looking for partners to set up a stably operating distribution network in Africa.

According to Mr. Gafeev, the share of the African continent in the world economy will soon increase, and KAMAZ should take advantage of the favorable situation. Besides, the company is supposed not only to supply vehicles and spare parts, but also to build service centers and train specialists. In addition, the Russian government jointly with financial institutions developed Russian export financing programs giving foreign partners special-term credits. “I am sure that such an integrated approach will be of interest to our African partners, and I hope that this meeting will give an additional impetus to the development of our trade and economic relations,” Mr. Gafeev concluded.
