OREANDA-NEWS. Silesia's local authorities and Regional Chamber of Commerce recognised Grupa LOTOS and its CEO, Pawel Olechnowicz, for professionalism, quality, ability to integrate business and social welfare concerns, and contribution to the development of the Polish economy.

The awards in the 16th edition of the Silesian Quality Award competition and certificates in the 4th edition of the 'Quality First' programme were presented on May 12th at the Arsenal Palace Hotel in Chorzow.

Grupa LOTOS's presence at the ceremony was well highlighted, as its CEO, Mr Olechnowicz, was awarded two important distinctions. One of them was the Crystal Laurel of Skills and Competence. Tadeusz Donocik, President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce, emphasised that the judging panel recognised Mr Olechnowicz's contribution to the development of the Polish fuel and power industry and the country's economy at large, his commitment to the future of the European energy sector, professionalism and consistent approach to managing Grupa LOTOS and transforming it into a European market leader, as well as the ability to aptly integrate commercial activity with corporate social responsibility, initiatives to raise environmental awareness, and cooperation with business partners.

Presenting the award, Tadeusz Donocik also thanked Grupa LOTOS for recognising the importance of small and medium-sized companies, and the appreciation shown to the interdependencies that exist between LOTOS, an industry major and Poland's flagship company, and the SME sector. Mr Olechnowicz also received the 'Honorary Title for Merit in the Katowice Province' from Andrzej Gosciniak, President of the Provincial Assembly. "I accept these awards on my own behalf and on behalf of the entire Grupa LOTOS", said Pawel Olechnowicz. "The judges have acknowledged the value created through conscientious and responsible work of hundreds of people who are an integral part of our company and its success."
