OREANDA-NEWS.  June 17, 2014. In the framework of the state visit of South Korean President Park Geun-hye to Kazakhstan there will be signed an agreement on visa-free regime for up to one month, this has been announced at a briefing in Central Communications Service by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Alexei Volkov.

"We managed to reach an agreement by which the citizens of Kazakhstan and South Korea, holders of ordinary passports, will be able to enter the states without a visa for up to one month. This is due to development of tourism, medicine, scientific technology, student exchange, etc.," A. Volkov said.

"In addition, we would like to focus our attention on signing of a number of important agreements including on construction of the Balkhash thermal power plant, chemical complex in Atyrau Region and development of Zhambyl field," he added.

It bears to remind that President of the Republic of South Korea Park Geun-hye will visit Kazakhstan on June 18-20 at invitation of the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. The program of the visit includes meetings at the highest level, with the President of Kazakhstan, in narrow and broad format, as well as signing of bilateral documents.

Business forum will be carried out in the framework of the visit joining the representatives of the 70 largest companies of South Korea.

According to the MFA, it is planned to sign more than 10 documents including a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of railways and transport between the relevant ministries of the two states, in the field of education, justice, forestry and reforestation of Kazakhstan, as well as in geology and mineral resources.
