OREANDA-NEWS. June 27, 2014. The relevant resolution was adopted by Cabinet ministers on Wednesday. The issue of the petrol vouchers is expected to be forbidden starting July 1, at once as the resolution is published in Monitorul Oficial, Vice-premier, Minister of Economy of Moldova Valeriu Lazar said. However, the vouchers will be in circulation till December 31.

At present, the fuel vouchers are used by all operators of the oil product markets, Valeriu Lazar noted. According to him, using the voucher looks like signing a guarantee that the client will have a certain volume of fuel in a certain period of time.

The price for fuel sold on the basis of the voucher can be 10 to 20% less than that announced by filling stations. So, the market witnesses the disloyal competition, the Minister said. It can not be allowed and the fuel must be sold at a price indicated on price lists. In future, oil traders are expected to encourage their clients by issuing cash cards which are to replace the vouchers. Holders of these cards will be able to buy petrol in a volume equal to the value of the card.
