OREANDA-NEWS. July 21, 2014. A labor collective meeting was held at TatNIPIneft, where the Institute's work results for the first half of 2014 were announced.

Being one of the largest oil industry research centers TatNIPIneft continues to systematically build up the intellectual property of JSC TATNEFT. 46 invention patent applications, 1 patent application for a utility model and 4 applications for computer programs were sent to the "Federal Institute of Industrial Property", a Federal state budgetary institution, for state registration in the first half of 2014.

81 patents for inventions, one utility model patent, 5 certificates of computer programs state registration (2 certificates in the 1st half of 2013) were received during the first half of the year.
At the end of the first  half of the year the Register of  JSC  TATNEFT patents  kept in force consisted of 1,670 patents and certificates of the Russian Federation for inventions, utility models, software and trademarks, including 759 patents and certificates being on the books of TatNIPIneft (695 patents, 62 patents for utility models, 2 computer program certificates).
Pending in foreign patent offices there are five applications for inventions in the field of drilling and oil fields' development, while the Register of foreign patents kept in force includes 14 JSC TATNEFT's foreign patents in 8 countries.

The patents for inventions, utility models and certificates for computer programs, having been obtained, certify the exclusive privilege of JSC TATNEFT as a copyright holder for inventions, utility models and computer programs.

The total number of patents for inventions, utility models, certificates of state registration of computer programs and trademarks kept in force amounts currently to 1,670 in the register of JSC TATNEFT.

The scientific and research activities of the TatNIPIneft experts in the first half of the year were primarily aimed at improving the technology of extra-viscous oil production, development of hard-to-recover reserves, as well as development of technologies to improve the efficiency of drilling and workover operation and  development of new enhanced oil recovery methods.
