OREANDA-NEWS. Denver International Airport (DIA) announced that it will host a temporary beer garden in the center of the Jeppesen Terminal. "Beer Flights" is presented by the Colorado Lottery.

The beer garden will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily from Sept. 19 to Oct. 4, and coincides with worldwide Oktoberfest celebrations, Denver Beer Fest and the Great American Beer Festival. Tickets are available at the door for USD 10 and visitors must be 21 or older with a valid ID to enter. Cash and most major credit cards will be accepted.

"Denver is in the middle of a craft brewing renaissance, and is one of the premier cities in the world for beer aficionados," said airport CEO Kim Day. "'Beer Flights' will offer travelers from around the world a taste of Colorado's craft brewery artisanship, creativity and innovation in a fun setting here at the airport."

Admission to the event includes a souvenir glass, a bag of pretzels provided by Southwest Airlines, and access to 10, 2-ounce samples of beer. A total of 11 Colorado breweries will be represented at the event, many of which are also available throughout DIA's robust dining options.

The beer garden will include eight picnic tables decorated by local artists. DIA will also host live entertainment throughout the "Beer Flights" event, including live music, talks by brew masters, brew trivia and more. The Colorado Lottery will also be on-site selling their products throughout the 16-day event.

A photo contest will take place throughout the event to encourage attendees to post a photo of their "Beer Flights" visit on Twitter using #BeerFlightsDIA for a chance to win one of several prizes, including a snowboard, T-shirts, hats and a package that includes a day with a Ska Brewing Company's head brewer, Thomas Lawson, and a one-night hotel stay in Durango. To add a unique twist to your photo, Oktoberfest costumes are encouraged.

Beer Flights was organized by Denver International Airport and Denver Arts & Venues in conjunction with the Denver Theatre District and the Colorado Brewers Guild.

All travelers can also experience Colorado on Tap: The State of Brew Culture, an art exhibit on the pre-security bridge walkway to A Gates that features educational information about the craft beer culture and its impact in the creative industry in Colorado.
