OREANDA-NEWS. September 30, 2014. With the introduction of 15 new functions, Bosch Security Systems is expanding its AMAX family of intrusion alarm systems for small and medium-sized applications. The family is now available with even greater functionality regarding alarm signals and control of the AMAX 4000, 3000, and 2100. Four of these new functions in particular distinguish the latest generation of AMAX: the voice dialer, the set-up of macros, the remote control, and the master keypad functionality.

Voice dialer and simple set-up of macros

In the event of an alarm, AMAX automatically sends a pre-recorded voice message to up to four phone numbers. This then allows the customer to decide how to proceed, such as alarming the police.

The easy set-up of macros additionally simplifies the operation of the AMAX panel. In total three macros can combine several different functions. This is especially useful for frequently recurring operations such as arming and detector bypass, which formerly needed separate execution steps, and now can be activated with a single keystroke.

Remote control and master keypad
The AMAX family also offers remote control. This means a monitoring station can arm and disarm the system on behalf of the customer without having to be on site. In addition, maintenance services can be performed remotely, removing the need to disclose codes to external parties, such as security guards.

The centralized control of the AMAX intrusion alarm system is further simplified by a master keypad, enabling easy and timesaving operation of the entire system from a single master keypad.

“The new AMAX family was well received on the market when it launched last spring. Our customers' feedback helped us to further tailor the functions of the system to their needs,” comments Peter Hupka, product manager AMAX. He also explains the product line extension: “The latest AMAX generation now covers an even broader array of applications for small and medium-sized commercial and residential applications. Moreover, with the extended range of functions, it offers even more convenient operation.”

The different areas of application for the AMAX family are divided into eight (AMAX 2100), 32 (AMAX 3000) or 64 zones (AMAX 4000). Moreover, the AMAX versions 4000 and 3000 can be used as hybrid control panels, making them suitable for both wired detectors as well as the new RADION wireless detectors. The RADION wireless range, which was also introduced in spring of this year, comprises 15 different ranging from motion detectors, door and window contacts, universal transmitter, keyfobs to smoke detector. The range is suitable for new installations as well as pre-installed systems with wireless components from the “DSRF” series of Bosch. This new RADION wireless portfolio features another specialty: By using up to eight repeaters, even remotely located detectors can be securely connected to the AMAX control panel and with monitored signal transmission.

The AMAX panels in the 4000, 3000, and 2100 product line-up with this expanded range of functions are available in Europe (with the exception of GB), the Middle East and Africa from September 2014 onward.
