OREANDA-NEWS. October 03, 2014. The Head of the Legal Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Sergey Puzyrevsky, took part in a conference on “Legal Risks: Evaluation and Optimization”.

Sergey Puzyrevsky discussed the so-called “forth antimonopoly package” and legislative initiatives reflected in it.

“On 24th October, the State Duma will consider the draft law in the first reading. It provides for reducing administrative restrictions for business and simultaneously reducing state participation in the economy. Many provisions of the new law are aimed at decreasing legal risks”, pointed out Sergey Puzyrevsky.

The FAS representative also talked about the efforts towards developing antimonopoly compliance. “Under the frame of the “Strategy for Developing Competition and the Antimonopoly Law”, we study and explore foreign experience in this field. These are corporate measures aimed at preventing antimonopoly violations by economic entities. In our opinion, antimonopoly compliance can be an efficient mechanism for reducing the antimonopoly risks”.

Finally, Sergey Puzyrevsky proposed to the conference participants to formulate their proposals in improving the antimonopoly law in the Russian Federation.
