OREANDA-NEWS. How the imposition of economic sanctions will impact the Russian food market? What will result from the Russian food market restructuring? How to do business and quickly to reorient in the current situation? These and other questions were discussed by the participants of the 8th Russian Food Forum, which was held in Moscow from 15 to 17 September. Event organizers are positioning forum as the leading platform for a dialogue of the food industry experts; professionals that present certain sectors of the industry; representatives of ministries, agencies and international organizations. The forum was attended by the Executive Director of the Retail Companies Association Andrey Karpov, ACORT member companies Dixy, METRO, X5 Retail Group.

The forum had six thematic conferences. One of them which the topic was "Supplier and retail network: practice of effective communication" has attracted special attention of the retail chains representatives, which took an active part in discussion of issues. Andrey Karpov spoke at the conference with a report: "Impact on the retail network of the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation of the restriction of the import of food products from EU countries, USA, Australia, Canada, Norway and Japan. Participation of trade networks in import substitution. ACORT work on the implementation of the norms and provisions of the Code of good practices".

The project is part of an ongoing programme to upgrade the gas mains in the East Midlands and South Yorkshire. National Grid is investing £800 million, running up until 2021, renewing gas pipes in the region.
