OREANDA-NEWS. During the three quarters of 2014, the passenger traffic of Moscow Domodedovo Airport amounted to 25.98 million persons which is 8.2% more yoy. Only in September, Moscow Domodedovo Airport rendered services to 3.26 million passengers, which is 2.6% more yoy. The number of flights increased by 3.3% compared to the first autumn month to make 25,497 take-offs and landings.

The trend of redistribution of passenger traffic toward increasing domestic routes traffic persists. Thus the number of passengers traveling around the country for the period from January to September 2014 increased by 21.6% yoy. The greatest increase was registered in the following group of destinations: Simferopol, Sochi, Makhachkala, Kaliningrad, and Omsk. The passenger traffic here amounted to 2.21 million people, which is 2.6 times more yoy.

It should be noted that the growth of the number of flights to Simferopol became one of the reasons why the positive dynamics in the passenger traffic shifted towards domestic airlines. In addition, foreign events affected the frequency of flights from the capital of Russia to the Ukrainian regions, which belong to the international segment. Thus, compared with 2013, the number of passengers travelling to these destinations decreased by 17%.

In total, for the first nine months of this year, Moscow Domodedovo Airport provided international air traffic services to 14.37 million people, including 1.73 million passengers in September 2014. The highest growth in passenger traffic was registered on the following routes: Sharm El Sheikh, Kishinev, Larnaca, Hurghada, Antalya. In January-September 2014, 3.2 people were transported on these routes, which is 39.5% more than last year.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport cargo traffic in the January-September of 2014 amounted to 136 thousand tons.
