OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus' ferrous rolled stock output increased 5% on the year in January-September 2014 to 1.796 million tonnes, an official with Belarus' National Statistics Committee told.

Steel output increased 1.7% on the year to 1.951 million tonnes. Carbonic steel wire output grew 5.4% on the year to 339,300 tonnes. Stainless steel wire output reduced 11.6% to 3,541 tonnes.

Belarusian companies produced 61,900 tonnes of metal cord in the period, up 9% year on year.

In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus reduced 1.6% on the year to 32.733 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) in Jan-Sep 2014 (USD 3.062 billion).

Inventories of steel products totalled Br1.264 trillion (USD 118 million) as of October 1, 2014, 50.3% of the average monthly output.
