OREANDA-NEWS. Mitsubishi Company in 2015 is going to increase or at least to maintain its share in the Russian market. The CEO of "MMC Rus", Andrey Pankov, said in the interview with MotorPage.ru, who said that in the future, the company expects to keep sales in Russia at the level of 2014 - 75-78 thousand cars.

"In 2014, our sales will be about 75-78 thousand, the same as in the previous year. It is hard to make predictions for the next year, because all automakers are waiting for quite disastrous first quarter. All customers who were going to buy a car made it at the end of the year - says Mr.Pankov. - I think we will be able to maintain sales in 2015 at the level of the previous year. A key uncertainty will be connected with the fact, how it will be made the redistribution of the market. In a crisis, all hard, and if someone fails, we will take this share without additional efforts. As long as a benchmark, we believe that we will remain at the current level of sales, but we'll see what happens. Anyway, we will keep our market share.

According to Mr.Pankov, Russia is among the top three of global markets for Mitsubishi, taking up about 8% of global sales. "Mitsubishi sells worldwide a million cars, and in Russia - 80 thousand and it is 8% of global sales. And by some models - we reach up to 30% of global sales (Outlander, for example). For us it is a vital market - said the CEO of "MMC Rus". - "We sell here more cars than in the US, more than in China, more than in Europe. Therefore, whether we like or do not want to, but we must at all costs to develop actively and sell cars here. It is for this reason that we are remaking constantly products of Mitsubishi, to meet the needs of Russian clients, for this reason, sales of new products Mitsubishi started the most often for the first time in Russia (for example, next year we will start sales of the new generation of Outlander, by 3-6 months before than in any other market)".

By the results of 11 months of 2014 Mitsubishi sales in Russia were 67,432 cars, which is less by 4.1% than the same period of the last year. The best-buy brand in the Russian market remains crossover Mitsubishi Outlander, which in January-November was sold in amount of 24,635 units (+ 4%). Sales of Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in the same period was 8390 vehicles (+10%), Pajero IV - 6476 cars (+ 10%), L 200 - 5278 pickups (+ 10%).
