OREANDA-NEWS.  SSE has been named the best performing major energy supplier by Citizens Advice in its latest complaint performance update.

The independent advice service ranked SSE number one throughout 2014 in its quarterly Energy Supplier Performance report. SSE was awarded a complaints score of 44.5 per 100,000 customers for the period October to December 2014. 

A graph showing supplier scores over the period demonstrates that SSE has consistently set the standard for the rest of the industry.

"We are working hard on a number of initiatives to further improve our customer service and make it easier for customers to manage their energy account with SSE."

Figures from the Department of Energy and Climate Change’s latest Public Attitudes Tracker survey also show people are worrying less about their energy bills and trust in suppliers is at its highest since 2012.

According to the survey, the percentage of respondents very worried about their energy bills was 9 per cent, down from 15 per cent in March 2014 and 23 per cent in March 2013. The percentage of respondents fairly worried about their energy bills fell also fell to 26 per cent from 34 per cent in March 2014 and 37 per cent in March 2013.

Meanwhile,57 per cent of people said that they trust their supplier to give them a fair deal. This is the highest level since the survey began three years ago and compares to 44 per cent in March 2014 and 48 per cent in March 2013.

SSE is also the only major energy firm to cap prices until at least July 2016 – offering customers long-term piece of mind.
