OREANDA-NEWS. Lincoln continues to gain momentum in the U.S., with February sales up 30 percent.

“What a month!” said U.S. Sales Analyst Erich Merkle.  “We’ve spent so much time getting the right Lincoln product into the marketplace, and it’s starting to pay off.”

Lincoln SUV sales jumped 41 percent in February versus last year, marking the best February in 15 years.  MKC sales were up 12 percent, and MKX sales were up 109 percent.

“The MKX performed very well in February, with great results in the West and Southeast regions of the country.  That’s where you want to see growth with your new products,” said Merkle, noting that MKX sales were up 57 percent in the West and 82 percent in the Southeast. “What’s even more encouraging is that while we saw stunning growth coming from the all-new MKX, MKC sales continued to rise – posting a gain of 12 percent. The two vehicles are cohabitating nicely on dealer lots and providing strong incremental expansion of Lincoln SUVs.”

MKZ sales were up 16 percent.

“Every model in the Lincoln lineup from MKZ to Navigator achieved a sales increase in February,” said Merkle.  “We still have a lot of work to do as we continue on the Lincoln journey, but the progress that we’ve made is exciting and we will continue the momentum later this year with the launch of the new MKZ and the all-new Lincoln Continental.”
