OREANDA-NEWS  In Russia, there is a shortage of a key component for the production of plywood — phenolic formaldehyde resin. Kommersant writes about this.

The publication notes that because of this, a number of enterprises may stop the production of plywood or significantly raise prices. CEO of the association Timur Irtuganov said that the lack of phenol is rather due to the lack of raw materials — benzene, which is exported to Asia.

It is clarified that in addition to the woodworking industry, companies producing construction materials — cellulose and fiberglass - also suffered.

Earlier it was reported that nine percent of foreign manufacturers of building materials left Russia in 2022. 21 percent have rebranded and continued their activities in the country.
