OREANDA-NEWS  Kabardino-Balkaria became the leader in wine production growth among Russian regions last year, and most of this alcohol was produced in the Krasnodar Territory, according to an analysis by RIA Novosti of statistical data.

Last year, 18 regions produced wine compared to 19 regions a year earlier. The production of grape wine has completely stopped in the Altai Territory.

Production grew the most in Kabardino-Balkaria - 1.8 times, to 984.4 thousand decaliters. The Leningrad Region and Dagestan also joined the top three, where wine production jumped by a third to 3.9 million and 2.2 million decaliters, respectively. Wine production from grapes increased by about a quarter in North Ossetia to 3.4 million decaliters, and in Adygea it increased by 19% to 1.9 million.
