OREANDA-NEWS  The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), which is part of Rostec, has received a patent for the design of a wide-body long-range aircraft (CFDMS). The new aircraft, as follows from the document reviewed by RIA Novosti, is comparable in performance to the Boeing B787-900 Dreamliner, but surpasses it in terms of operating costs.

"This invention relates to the field of aviation technology, namely to the design of wide—body long-range aircraft ...," the document says.

As noted in the patent, the new aircraft surpasses the Dreamliner by three percent in terms of direct operating costs and about six percent in terms of direct operating costs. In terms of cost per seat-kilometer, the SHFDMS-600 is 11-13 percent better than the B787-9 in terms of direct operating costs and 15-17 percent in terms of direct operating costs.
