OREANDA-NEWS In October 2026, Vietnam achieved an all-time record foreign trade surplus of $7.31 billion. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the statistical agency of this ASEAN country.

In September, it was $1.27 billion, and in October last year— it was $2.38 billion. It is noted that last month exports increased by 51.4 percent year-on-year and amounted to a record 64.67 billion dollars. Imports soared by 43.1 percent to 57.36 billion.

However, in the first ten months of 2026, Vietnam's foreign trade deficit amounted to $12.07 billion.

In early September, Vietnam's ambassador to Russia, Dang Minh Khoi, said that his country supplies coffee, seafood, vegetables, cashews and peppers to Russia. As for imports from Russia, Vietnam actively buys coal, fertilizers, chemical products, raw materials for the production of plastics and metals.

In 2025, the trade turnover between Russia and Vietnam increased by almost six percent.
