OREANDA-NEWS. Since March 1, an increase in the number of unemployed people by 4 thousand people has been recorded in Russia, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said, TASS reports. She noted that the situation on the labor market is gradually changing. The total number of registered unemployed in Russia increased from 681 thousand on April 25 to 690.5 thousand on May 5.

As of May 5, 2022, compared to March 1 of the current year, an increase in the number of unemployed citizens who are officially registered with the employment service was registered for the first time. Growth is about 4 thousand people. Prior to this, such a trend did not manifest itself. The number of idle workers increased to 138 thousand people. The number of part-time workers has grown to 131,000 people, the vice-premier said.

Chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR) Mikhail Shmakov noted earlier that the number of registered unemployed in Russia is not growing yet. However, he noted that there are alarming trends in the labor market. He also added that the federation protects the rights of workers, including employees of foreign companies that are members of the federation of trade unions.
