OREANDA-NEWS  In Russia, in the first quarter of 2023, sales of instant noodles decreased in pieces by 9.5 percent year-on-year. At the same time, in monetary terms, sales of the product increased by 11 percent, Kommersant writes.

The article also says that sales of all fast food products for the first quarter in pieces decreased by 12.8 percent year-on-year, and in money increased by 3.9 percent.

Experts pointed out that, as a rule, in times of crisis, the market for fast food is most often growing. Manufacturers believe that this is due to the recovery of demand after the hype.

In addition, the article states that in 2022, sales of instant noodles in Russia reached 14.6 servings per capita per year, which exceeds the US figure, but far from the volumes of Asia.

Earlier it became known that in Russia they wanted to withdraw American instant noodles of the Nissin Foods brand from the market. The reason was the discovery in the product of one of the types of genetically modified soy, which is banned in the country.
