OREANDA-NEWS   According to the results of the first ten months of 2025, Russia took the first place in the sale of buckwheat in the United States, ahead of the previous largest supplier Canada — 1.8 million dollars against 1.6 million. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to data from the American statistical service.

In monetary terms, this result was the highest since 2022, when the United States purchased $3.3 million worth of buckwheat from Russia during the specified period. The two largest suppliers are followed by Ukraine (155.3 thousand dollars), China (121.7 thousand) and Lithuania (119.7 thousand).

Imports of Russian buckwheat to the United States increased significantly by the end of the third quarter — in September, its figures were twice as high as in August.

Meanwhile, interest in buckwheat from Russia in the Chinese market has collapsed. In January-October, sales amounted to 62.7 million dollars, although a year earlier the Main Customs Administration (GTU) China reported 71.1 million shipments of the product. In October alone, sales fell 16-fold.
