OREANDA-NEWS Russians began to buy more white caviar this year - pollock, herring, cod - demand increased by almost 20% in annual terms, analysts at the Check Index center of the OFD Platform company found out for RIA Novosti.
"White caviar (caviar of pollock, herring, cod) - the median price per 1 kilogram was 759 rubles. The number of purchases is 19% higher year-on-year," the analysts found out by comparing the data for the first nine months of this year and last year.
The demand for pollock caviar grew the most - the number of purchases increased by 22% year-on-year. Cod roe began to be bought 19% more often, and herring roe - by 15%.
